I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in January, 1948 and grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I currently reside in Sandy, Utah with my partner, Bill, and Golden Retriever, Kolby. I am the mother of one son and have two grandsons. I like to cook, entertain and garden and have recently finished writing a book with my brother about seven generations of our matriarchal family line.

I earned a Bachelors degree in Education at the University of Utah, a Master’s Degree from Utah State University, and a Master’s of Ministerial Arts at the Inner Light Institute. I taught school for 35 years and enjoyed teaching music, art, math, writing, science, mentoring new teachers and being a consulting educator. After winning a grant from Tree Utah, I created a walking nature trail system above the school that included an outdoor classroom where students could learn about native Utah plants and rocks. I was honored with the Elementary Teacher Award by the Utah Alliance for Arts Education in 1987. The same year I was a speaker at the 7th World Conference for Gifted and Talented Children with the theme of Expanding Awareness of Creative Potentials.

I worked with mentors Rev. Dr. Allene Remington, Rev. Dr. Ellen Vlasic and Dr. Shauna Adix, to create the Inner Light Institute and Ministerial Training Program and have been the lead minister for nearly 15 years, and ordained minister for 24 years. I have created courses on Basic and Advanced New Thought Metaphysics, Numerology, Native American Spirituality, Celtic Spirituality, Divine Feminine and Goddess Spirituality, Qabalah, I have enjoyed leading drumming circles and creating meaningful ceremonies.

I love books and am an avid reader. I like to listen to music by Stephen Halpern and Enya, and like to play music by Chopin, List, Debussy, Beethoven on my grand piano, I enjoy attending Utah Opera and Symphony. I began dancing with Virginia Tanner at age four, studied ballet for years, and have won a few ballroom dance contests. I love hiking, exploring ancient ruins in the Southwest and Mexico, hanging out by rivers, and watching the night sky and photography. I support the Adopt A Native Elder program and have an adopted Navajo grandmother.

I have been active in environmental programs and organizations. I was honored by the Sandy City Beautification Committee for the best Before and After re-landscape and for “enhancing the aesthetic in the neighborhood” and “beautifying the community”. I really admire Hillary Clinton, her daughter Chelsea, the relationship they have cultivated and the book they wrote together; Gutsy Women, Favorite Stories of Courage and Resilience.

I began attending Crone Counsel in 2012, after which we started a SLC Crone Circle that has continued meeting monthly. I helped create the Crone Counsel 2017 in SLC for the 25th Silver Jubilee. I love participating in gatherings of women and the sense of belonging that is created through sharing stories, insights, wisdom, and connecting on deep levels as we sit in circle, create a sense of safety and love and share from the heart.

“CAW”

“CAW!”

Do you hear the call?

It is the call of the archetype of crone, the wise woman, the wisdom aspect of the divine feminine, creative, intelligent, loving Source. SHE is older than time itself. SHE, Wisdom, is calling to our hearts and souls to awaken us to our own higher wisdom. SHE is calling us to connect and to share the wisdom of our life experiences, honor women’s wisdom and women’s ways, to create new ways of being and belonging, loving and growing together, to bring forth greater beauty, joy and harmony that leads us to understand the deeper meaning and purpose of our lives. SHE is calling to help us build the lives, the communities and the world we visualize and know is possible.

For those who hear the call of CRONE, it is time to awaken and build the consciousness field, “Wisdom’s House”, where humanity can thrive along with the Earth herself, and all life. Of course, Wisdom, is not reserved for elders, and just because one is old, does not make one wise. We acknowledge the wisdom in each stage of a woman’s life which is why it is important to recognize and cultivate wisdom as we engage in this intergenerational work with maidens, mothers, matriarchs and crones in inclusive and open-hearted ways.

What will happen when CRONE AWAKENS the deep wisdom in our hearts?

What power will we be able to harness when we connect, share and bless each other in radiating, ever-widening circles and support and empower one another with the wisdom we have gathered along with our glorious years of life?

The purpose of the new organization, Crone Awakening Wisdom, or CAW, is to support and celebrate women with on-line and in-person gatherings in local circles as well as regional and national experiential events, and provide opportunities to learn from each other and enhance life skills and leadership skills. The intention of CAW is to bring forth our collective and individual wisdom and feminine strength in ways that create a deep sense of belonging, well-being, personal empowerment, resilience, hope and happiness that will echo throughout the world.

“CAW! CAW!”
